Become a Data Scientist this summer at Berkeley Coding Academy! Students choose their own datasets to extract meaningful insights and make real-world predictions. We use the numpy, pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, and sklearn libraries to analyze big data and build machine learning models. We focus on writing the Python code behind AI.
No experience is required. We include beginning and advanced cohorts to accommodate students with different backgrounds. Students apply what they learn in lectures during cohort time. We include daily project guidelines and daily PDFs to share expectations and sample code. Cohort time is used for project development, personalized instruction, and reinforcement or extension of core concepts.
Significant time and detail are given to portfolio projects that include Google Slides and Colab Notebooks. Projects are of lasting value and may be used for job applications, internships, school applications, science fairs, and more. Projects receive peer and instructor feedback and are presented on the last day. Projects are permanently linked via blockchain-authenticated certificates.
Students receive permanent access to the Berkeley Coding Academy suite which includes over 100 4K Data Science videos, over 100 Colab Notebooks, over 100 slides, and all additional materials that students and instructors create for this class.
